Spreadsheet Templates

Pre-built templates help you get started quickly with common use cases.

Using a Template

  1. Click + New Spreadsheet on the dashboard
  2. Select From Template
  3. Browse by category or search
  4. Preview the template (see sample data, formulas, and charts)
  5. Click Use Template — creates a new spreadsheet with all the template content

Template Categories

Templates include sample data, formulas, formatting, charts, and named ranges. Modify them freely after creation.


Spatial Data Catalog

The catalog provides curated spatial datasets that you can import directly into your spreadsheets.

Accessing the Catalog

  • Click Catalog in the toolbar, or
  • Ask Geovani: "Search the catalog for state boundaries"

Browsing

Filter datasets by:

  • Category: Boundaries, Infrastructure, Natural, Demographics, Points of Interest
  • Geometry type: Point, Line, Polygon
  • Search: Free-text search across names and descriptions

Dataset Details

Each dataset card shows:

  • Name and description
  • Geometry type badge
  • Feature count (how many records)
  • Source attribution
  • Coverage area

Click a dataset to see its full details, including the data schema (what columns/properties are included).

Importing

  1. Find the dataset you want
  2. Click Import
  3. A new sheet is created with:
    • Headers from the dataset properties
    • Spatial values in the first column
    • All attribute data in subsequent columns
  4. Large imports (>1,000 features) show a progress bar

Available Data

The catalog includes 15-20 curated datasets across categories:

  • Country and state/province boundaries
  • US county and city boundaries
  • Major airports and seaports
  • National parks and protected areas
  • Population and demographic data
  • Points of interest (hospitals, universities)

All datasets include source attribution. Premium datasets are available on Professional and Enterprise plans.

Using Imported Data

After importing, you can:

  • Create map charts to visualize the data
  • Use spatial formulas (CONTAINS, NEAREST, DISTANCE) to analyze relationships
  • Join with your own data using VLOOKUP or named ranges
  • Ask Geovani to help with spatial analysis
